There are two abnormal entrants in tablet market and most of the people are surprised with these entries. Google and Microsoft have taken such a step which many experts may not have expected. Google brought their tablet this month and it is called as Nexus 7 whereas Microsoft is gearing up to bring their Surface Tablet during the third quarter of this year. There are two versions of Surface Tablets whereas Google Nexus 7 has just one version. Let us check that who are going to offer what to their users.
Size & Display: – The first version of “Surface Tablet” is known as Windows RT Tablet and the thickness of this model is 9.3 millimeters. It has 10.6” display with ClearType HD capacitive touchpanel. Name of the second version of Surface Tablet is “Windows 8 Pro Tablet” and it is 13.5 inches thick. The 10.6” display size has ClearType Full HD capacitive touchpanel. Google Nexus 7 has the dimensions of 198.5*120*10.5mm and it weighs 340 grams. It has LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and the size of the screen is 7 inches.
Features: – Windows RT Tablet has Windows RT software with Office Home & Student 2013 RT and Windows 8 Pro Tablet has Windows 8 Pro Software. Both of these models have various accessories like VaporMg Case & Stand, Touch Cover along with Type Cover and they also have 2*2 MIMO antennae. Windows RT model has microHD video and Windows 8 Pro has Mini DisplayPort Video. Google Nexus 7 is based on Android version 4.1 Jelly Bean Operating System and it has Quad-core 2 1.3 GHz Cortex-A9 processor along with ULP GeForce and Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset. The model has HTML Browser and it is available in Black color. It has various other facilities like Google Wallet, organizer, Picasa integration and many more. This tablet has 1.2MP of primary camera with video capacity of 720p.
Memory: – Windows RT Tablet has the internal storage capacity of 32GB / 64GB and Windows 8 Pro tablet has the storage capacity of 64GB / 128GB. However memory of Google Nexus 7 is 8 / 16GB and it has 1GB of RAM. There is no additional card slot available in this model.
Battery: – Google Nexus 7 has Li-Ion 4325 mAh standard battery and it has the talk-time of up to 10 hours. Windows RT Tablet has 31.5 Wh battery and Windows 8 Pro Tablet has 42Wh Battery.
Price: – Price of these tablets has not been announced by Microsoft so far whereas the cost of 8GB Google Nexus 7 is $199 and 16GB costs around $249 into the marketplace.
Google Nexus 7 is an economical tablet but it is better to wait for the release of Microsoft Surface Tablet because it is looking more promising than Google Nexus 7. Many new features are attractive due to which you would actually like to use it. Many important features are not available in Google Nexus 7 however you may not face the same in Microsoft Surface Tablet.
