Applications for houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) will commence from Thursday, November 2, 2016 on the online platform. The scheme is intended to get more people under the domain of the Governments’ forerunner scheme.
The housing and urban poverty alleviation ministry (HUPA) and common services center e-governance services India ltd. (CSC) have together signed on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the presence of Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, the union minister.
The basic requirement of this initiative is that the Government’s services should reach the public in an unbiased action without any variation. Mr.Naidu says the online application system will empower the respective authorities to make a note and respond faster to the beneficiaries’ requests.
The application costs Rs.25 each and the service will be available from Thursday through the many CSCs of the urban locations.
The union minister Mr. Naidu says partnership will aid in getting more urban poor population under the confines of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna Urban simultaneously catering to the issues associated in the submission of applications to the local bodies in providing due help and supervision. He also emphasizes on the digital India mission to quote the online application process transforming the nation.
While the 13.7 lakh homes have been granted to the urban poor people in the previous year and this will further elevate the stimulus through the applications online.
The Government’s spokes person opines that the CSCs are the forerunners of the digital India mission and are involved in empowering various sections of the society by the way of skilling and online service assistance.
Mr Amrit Abhijat, the joint secretary and Mr. Dinesh Tyagi, the CEO, CSC e-Governance Services India Ltd. have together signed the memorandum of understanding.
The urban development ministry has signed another similar MoU to aid the beneficiaries who apply for the toilets constructions online under the Swachh Bharat yojna in the urban localities.
