The Eligibility Criteria

For appearing in the JEE mains 2016, the candidate have to pass the 10+2 exam or any equivalent exam or can be appearing for the qualifying exam. For general candidates, the date of birth should be after 1st October 1991 or on that. The reserved candidates get a relaxation of 5 years. The date of birth has to be on or after 1st October, 1986.

The student has to pass in minimum five subjects in their respective 10+2 exams or any equivalent qualifying exam including the subjects Math, Physics and Chemistry. The maximum number of chances at the JEE main is 3 times and the candidate is not eligible if he/ she has passed the 10+2 exam on or before the year 2013.

The Big Day: JEE Main 2016 Date

The JEE main 2016 exam date includes the online as well as the offline date. The online mode of the exam will be conducted on 9th and 10th of April and the offline exam will be conducted on 3rd April.

The Exam Pattern

The B.E. and B. Tech papers will consist of 90 questions among which 30 will be from the individual subjects Math, Physics and Chemistry. The total time will be 3 hours.

For the B. Arch. And B. planning courses, the paper will consist of 3 parts. Paper 1 will be from Mathematics, paper 2 will be Aptitude test and paper 3 will be drawing test.

The JEE mains admit card will be available from the last of March on the official web site of JEE.

The JEE Advanced 2016 News

JEE advanced 2016 is the next step to JEE mains 2016 and it is conducted for admission of the students into IIT. Many other engineering institutions also admit the students on the basis of the rank in JEE advanced exam.

The Eligibility Criteria

Firstly, the student should be among the top 1, 50,000 rankers in JEE mains. He/she shouldn’t be more than 25 years of age and should have appeared in class 12 in 2015 or 2016 for the first time in all the subjects. The maximum number of JEE advanced attempts is 2 and it has to be in consecutive years.

Any student who has paid the admission fee at any IIT and have not taken admission in the past or have got the admission cancelled is not eligible to appear for the JEE advanced exam.

The Exam Pattern

  • The JEE advanced exam consists of two papers among which there are questions of objective type or MCQ, numerical solving and match the following type.
  • From the paper 1, there will be 3 sections of 60 questions in total.
  • Section1 having 8 questions, section2 having 10 questions and section3 having 2 match the following type questions of each subject.
  • There is negative marking for wrong answers in section 2 and 3.
  • The paper2 consists 3 sections. Section 1 and 2 has 8 questions each and section3 has 2 questions of paragraph type of each subject.
  • Negative marking is there for section 2 and 3.

JEE advanced exam will be conducted on 22nd May.
